hold your beardie close to your body, if something scares him cover him with your hands and dont let him jump, cup your hands around him, you definatly dont want to let him leap from your hands, i have one beardie who is jumpy, cant blame him having to grow up around other large beardies, and large birds, but hes getting used to things. I handle him a lot and let him look about, when he is frightened i just cup him in myhands and hold him till he settles and then let him look some more. your dragon may always be a bit of a scardy cat, but with some persistance and patience im sure he will settle down some
the rule with all my animals is to act as you always will around them, they have to get used to things, i dont coddle any of them, working with horses and large parrots i know sheltering them only causes more problems, you can really see the results of bad handling in animals like that, the more exposure they get the better, some you have to ease into it, especially smaller animals such as birds and reptiles so you dont stress them, but be persistant with them, be patient and they will gain confidence in you that they are safe.
>>I have a 3 month old beardie that I got last month. It's very healthy and eating well, but I have started trying to tame/calm him. Not a huge task since he isnt aggressive but there is one problem. He can jump super high (I should name him vince c. lol) and he always jumps around when he gets scared (i.e when my mom thunders into the room and starts to try to talk to it to its face. I have told her at least 10 times to stop and go do something else but she just does it anyway). should I A) let him jump and then get him when he lands on the ground or B) hold on just tight enough to not let him go anywhere? The problem with A. is that he may break a leg or something or I wont be able to find him (that almost happened outside, I got extremely lucky). The problem with B. is that he may see it as a predator thing.

>>I'm sorry my thoughts are unorganized, I need to work on that...
