Mealworm breeding..

pspguy Aug 07, 2003 01:40 PM

I have my drawers set up, with 1000 mealworms in 2 drawers. Do they need special temps?? How long should it take to pupate?? They all seem to be turning black and dying, any suggestions?

you have to feed and water them..

LOL, I am doing that. They are in about an inch of a gutload material, with carrot slices. How often should I put the carrots in??

I would put the carrots whenever they dry out.

What temps are you keeping them in right now? i'm assuming you've got airholes and stuff in there for them. I keep mine in an inch of oatmeal, and i put a slice of carrot in, or some banana, or some asparagus, (you get the idea) .. i put the water source in everyday.

I haven't really monitored the temp. I am keeping them in my garage, so I'd guess around 88 or so..
