At what age is a BT ready to breed? Is the age different for male and female? Also is there an age when they are too old to breed? Can a male or female last longer as far as being able to breed at an older age? Thanks,

Anyone out there with experience breeding have any info regarding this question. Thanks.
I don't keep this species, so i don't know the specifics. But it's usually a size > age that monitors become reproductive. In some smaller species it can be under 1 year, but in African monitors it is usually more like 2 years old. The husbandry/how well taken care of and fed is key in getting reproductive success...at least getting females to cycle.
All species I have worked with, including albigs, can breed within one year of age. Of course its care dependant. The speed of growth and time of maturity is based ON YOUR HUSBANDRY.
Young individuals prove to be far better breeders, then old individuals. Again, depending of care.
Solitary individuals are far worse breeders then those familiar with groups, other individuals of the same species.
What the above means is, there is no yes or no answer, There IS higher or better chances of success with certain groups of animals. Its up to you in the end. You can approach it smartly(higher percentages) or not so smartly(depending on luck) after all You make the decisions. Cheers
