shuggie728 Nov 17, 2006 04:44 PM

My water monitor managed to eat one of the baby bullfrogs I have...

Is that hurt him???

Frogs are fine. Never feed toads. Those swollen parotid glands behind the head contain toxins for defense. Cane toads will kill a monitor (sometimes before the monitor finishes ingesting it!).

A bullfrog is not going to make your water monitor sick. However, if you want to keep your bullfrogs, do not keep them with your water monitor. Also, bullfrogs are very competent predators in their own right. If you have a small water monitor and a big bullfrog, you could find you have no water monitor and a bigger bullfrog.
