Just a tip

A common problem I've seen posted over the years is that of temp controls. Some folks have difficulty achieving desired ranges, jumping from one wattage to another & nothing ever seems just right. I posted this hint earlier but I think it's kinda lost. Use a plug-in dimmer. They cost anywhere from 8-12 bucks & can be gotten most anywhere. Use a hotter bulb than you would normally use & simply dial it down to the desired temp. Presto!
Beyond Uros, we keep quite a few snakes from many different temperant zones & have found this to be the best way to accommodate all the different temp needs throughout the house.
The downside is, for those of us who custom cage, it won't work if you've wired the UV & basking lights together.
Just wanted to pass the thought along.

That is such a great idea. I've used timers on mine for a long time but never thought about dimmers. I'll have to pick one up this week!
