Maggot type creature in my turtle tank

phishnuts Nov 18, 2006 07:45 AM

There are some very small(about a mm in size) maggot looking creatures in my turtle tank. I have been having a problem with fruit flys around my tank. Is it possible that they are from the fruit flys? The reason I ask is because one of my cats has worms and is going to the vet today. I also wonder if my cat could have somehow passed the worms onto my turtle although they have had direct contact and I am not sure if the cats worms can live in a cold blooded host.

Any help would be appreciated.

1mm in size sounds like a fruit fly larva, nearly ready to morph. But since you are going to the vets anyway, take it with you to find out for sure.
