i fed her those flowers that i bought at homedepot, and like 8 waxworms, i talked to the people at sandiego zoo and they told me desert iguanas always eat some insects and that when little they tend to eat them alot but as long as i keep giving her flowers and greens and carrots and squash along with it that, she would be fine, that eventually she'll grow out of it they said and would go to like a 80%-90% vegetarian diet after they get older, the flowers were patriot bright red zonal geraniums and sunny robin garden mums, i know the geraniums r good for them but r the garden mums good for them to eat?

They can eat Mums but I would offer a wide variety. Keep showing her all kinds of goodies--- pull the petals off of the flower cone if they are large flowers to make it easier for them to eat. They are more of a nibbler when they feed. They feed off & on all day so try to keep something available. Also-- you will find them picking through the half dried leaves & petals too---- clean up old food before it gets moldy.

Hang in there!!
