Odd Eastern Box??

Chance Nov 18, 2006 03:54 PM

A friend of mine wanted me to post this for him.

"Just wanted to know any opinions on this Eastern. This is a Female Eastern Box Turtle. I aquired her from a breeding colony. She is around 5.5 inches in length. After I took pics of her I noticed that she has clear nails and that her skin is very pale lavender. I thought it just might be the sun from the photos, so I went to take a closer look at her. I got her out and her nails were still translucent, and her skin was lavender. I thought about it for a minute and realized that her skin reminded me of a Albino Lavender Cal King. And I took a closer look at her Orange scales and noticed that they were not the typical ornage you see mainly on Males, but that they are a high flouresent Orange. I also looked at her rear, and noticed all the same as the front. I have sent photos to friends who are better experinced to try to identify this animal. But now I would like anyones opinion on her. But please do not assume that I am claiming this animal to be for sure anything special, for all I know she could just be a beautiful female. But I believe that there is a possiblity she is an Albino Lavender. And once again, this is *NOT* a Male, this is a Female. Also I will have better pics of her this coming week. Also, it is hard to tell in this pic, but there is *NO* black on her skin, she is all Lavender, that's one reason I will be taking better more profiled pics."

The animal in question:

Nope, sorry. Nothing unusual or rare about her at all: that is pretty normal coloration for an EBT, especially a female.

She's very cute! I love the little "freckles" around her face.
Here is a pic of my female with the same general coloration:

When I first got her I was surprised by her coloration too, but apparently it isn't uncommon - still beautiful though
