Messy Snake!!!

kimusubi Nov 19, 2006 11:12 PM

My snake has recently been spilling his water all over his sterilite cage. He's very small, so he has a prety medium size bowl. I don't know what to do, I've replaced the bedding like 3 times. He may be getting a bit big for the tub. I don't know what else to do. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Get a really heavy bowl like the ones that are made of fake marble for dogs.Or,if you use a ceramic bowl, make sure it has straight sides, as it will be less likely to turn over. Gotta keep that litter dry, so I understand your frustration. Your bowl needs to be as big as you can fit across the cage if possible, as the large surface area helps keep your humidity up. Hope this helps, Sharon

Well, here's the biggest problem. The bowl isn't toppled over by any means, it just looks like the water was shook out of it and onto the bedding. Any suggestions for this? Thanks for the reply!

Sounds like it's trying to get out, and using the bowl for purchase??
A larger enclosure, and a larger water bowl would cure this. Boas fast outgrow tubs. If you insist on a sterlite, than go with the larger flat ones, and provide several hides, as it grows, remove some of them.
