Tail wagging female ?

balls4all Nov 20, 2006 01:54 AM

Just curious.......I have a female thats been breeding for the last 6 weeks or so. I put her in with a male today and she started cruising the tub like she was very disturbed and started wagging her tail .........Like a puppy would wag ?
Never seen her do this ........Anyone else ?

My female does this when I feed her. When I fed her live, I had the mouse in a smaller tank in her tank and she would go around the top of that, and wag her tail just like a dog the whole time.

Tail wagging in snakes can mean more than one thing.

It can mean, "I'm really feeling threatened by you, and if you don't back off my next move is going to be to strike at your ugly face."

It can also mean, "See my brightly-colored tail moving back and forth. Yes, it's a food item. Come on. Come closer. It might be an insect or.......BAM!"

However, in the case which you describe, it almost certainly means, "DO ME, please DO ME." (sorry for the vulgarity). If you look closely, you may see her everting her cloaca and also releasing fluids, including blood.
