How often to feed EBT hatchlings?...>>>

RMB Nov 20, 2006 10:43 AM

Hello,
Since there are conflicting opinions, I am wondering how often you all feed EBT hatchlings. Tess' site suggests every other day, which I am inclined to follow. This translates to 3-4 times per week. It was also suggested to me that 5 times per week is ideal. I am thinking I might opt for 4 times per week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri) as this works best with my schedule. The thought of pyramiding and other problems due to accelerated growth is quite frightening.
Thanks for any and all help!

Every other day is probably fine: I used to offer food every day, but more often than not they would only eat every other day.
I think pyramiding is more a result of what they are fed: if they have a balance diet, then frquent feeding shouldn't be a problem.

I feed every day until they start getting chubby and have nice initial growth (~2 months). Then, I do 3-4 times a week. My Florida hatchlings get fed every day as they never seem to be satisfied. I've had no trouble with growth.

They are about 3 months old and have some good growth to them (you can see from the original photo I posted of one of them). I think that I will feed them every other day and maybe do a back to back once a week if I see them searching for food.
Thanks again!
