It probably is, they feel more secure in smaller cages unlike Boa’s and other Pythons I have a 2000gr. Male in a 40qt. Wile in quarantine and he seems to like it . I have a home made 30 gal. size cage that is to be his home and I put him in it to ck. the size and he did not won’t to stay in it but it is the opposite with the smaller one . Good luck David

My collection does just fine in that size. I've got an 800 gram Albino that I have had for over a year. He was eating great, I moved him from a sweater box into a 27 quart and he refused to eat for months. I put him back into his sweater box and he ate the same day. Picky little buggers aren't they!

we usually move our animals to the 32qt tubs around 600-750g. They usually do good when they move but some require very tight hides and very little interaction or they go off-feed. most males stay in the 32qt tubs for life unless they get to be really big males and females get moved to 41qt tubs at around 1500-1800g where they live quite comfy. I have seen some quite large females in other's collections that require 4ft cages but unfortunately our biggest is only right at 3000g.

I keep all of my sub-adults and adults in 32qt sterilites and they do fine. If I had any really massive females I might go with the 41qts but my biggest female is only around 3000g and she does just fine in the 32qts.

I held back 1.1 pieds last year and both are a little over 1000 grams now. Neither of them will eat in anything larger than a 15qt. Sterlite. I've been keeping them in 15 qt. boxes for months with no problems. I'm sure quarters are going to get tight soon, but until them, I'm going to keep feeding them as long as they'll eat.

Their mom is about 4000-5000 grams and she calls home to a 27 qt. Rubbermade. I don't want to change anything that's not broken.

Good luck.
