bjay67 Nov 20, 2006 06:42 PM

Hi guys as the title says My female albino was lying belly up when I went into the room to check on them tonight. I have saw this behaviour once before in a royal(ball) but can't for the life of me remember why they do it.

i've seen my boas do it, but that's only when they are gravid.

I don't think she can be as she's only 18 months old although she was in with a male when I got her last month:-o

A long time ago my first snake, a ball python kept doing that. He died shortly after these episodes. He constantly would flip on his back, and it seemed as if he could not figure out what was up and what was down. After consulting a local vet and a few reptile shops in my area"where the snake was NOT purchased", it was thought he died from star gazers disease. It's called something else now"stargazer is laymans term", but it quite deadly. My advice is to take it to a vet with herp experience ASAP, just to be safe. Hope that helps, good luck!
