dogs and pythons

earlier today my dog was in my room, hes an italian greyhound, when he noticed a living creature in a glass box. so he stood up on his hind legs and started staring at my snake, whose terrarium is on top of my dresser, which is about 3-4 feet high. they stared at each other for a while and then my dog took it a step further. he started whining and when he clawed at the glass, i put him out of my room.

but my concern is this, later that night i took my ball out, and within a minute she went on a hissing frenzy at me. she hissed a few times in a row, stopping only because she saw that i definitely got the message. so i put her back as soon as possible.

i just want to know if my dog scared her and now shes switched into a defensive mode, and if so, for how long? because shes typically a very very easy going snake. she almost never hisses, and if so, she does so for a very good reason. this time, which was the worst mood ive ever seen her in, seems to have a reason. any comment?

had you petted your dog before hand? if so she may have smelled the dog on you and thought you were him.
