Intresting trait

KenCasstevens Nov 21, 2006 11:02 AM

I have an 04 female Thayeri from Home Grown Herps ( I put her down as an 05 in the photo gallery by mistake)that has what I think is an interesting pattern in that the black that borders the red saddles is bordered in white. I have a completely unrelated baby from my breedings this year that also has the white border thing going on. Is this somehting that you see in younger ones that goes away into adulthood, or can they keep it? Maybe it's normal, but I haven't seen too many like this. Also I absolutely love the head pattern on the Home Grown Herps female. I'm a sucker for cool head patterns. I'm sorry some of the pics are a little blurry, but she was spastic, and I did the best I could.

This is a little yellow one I decided to holdback. The white border thing is not as pronounced as in the hgh female ,but it is still there.

That was one of the key features to look for. I guess that would make him “Retro”.

I’m into the cool head patterns too, it’s what makes the best ones the best IMHO. That’s why I’m keeping this girl, that and all you sick Thayeri junkies cloud my judgement.

Rick,

As your signature states..."never enough"...

I hope nobody invents a "Thayeri's Anonymous" for us (even though I am knew to this Thayeri state of mind...only been a year or so)...what a rush 'cuz the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!!!!!!!!

Later,

I've noticed this trait on one of my female Dan V. thayeris as well. Her white background has been getting more speckled with each shed, and it seems to be bringing out this "white border" around the black borders. What a fascinating species.
