As of today my clutch of 16 trans-pecos rat snake eggs have all hatched. 100%. Man, it seemed liked a long time (about 75 days) but they all managed to make it. Out of the 16, 10 are blonde phase and 6 are normal. The mother is a normal/het for blonde and the male is a blonde with a nice orangish coloration. I'll take some pix over the next few days.

Forgot to mention that the first slit was noticed on 11/16 in the am. That baby was out that night and a few more eggs were slit. The majority came out over the weekend and the last one was finally out when I got home from work tonight.

Good ratio! You really hit the suboc lottery w/ that clutch. Did you have them incubated in vermiculite? Was the clutch an adhesive clump or were the eggs seperate?

Can't wait to see those babies after they shed! Well done!

Hey Dusty. Yeah, it seemed like the blondes just kept coming! I incubated them in vermiculite. There were 14 eggs in one container and 2 in another. They were all stuck together. I tried to remove the eggs from the female as they were laid in groups of around 4 to make sure they would fit in the container. I was surprised how they took about 5 days total to completely hatch out. Most of my experiences with colubrid eggs have been that they will all be out within about 48 or 72 hours of first slit. I'll post pictures over the weekend.

See ya.
