Pics of my Florida Laying & Hatchlings

streamwalker Nov 22, 2006 08:48 AM

Photos of my last clutch of the season. Florida Boxie laying; actually laid third clutch in Sept.06

I tried to get a bit closer; not sure I did.

The little lady that did it all! This was her third clutch this season. Usually she lays 4 eggs in a clutch..

A few months later... pipped just one week ago

Close up of smaller one.

What a great series of photos!! The mother looks good and the kids are adorable! I want one... May be this summer my female will lay a clutch again...... Hopefully they'll be furtile.

Wonderful pictures Ric!

The mother is beautiful and the hatchlings precious! Hatching eggs is always exciting!

Thanks for sharing all those great pictures... nice work!

I'm hoping to post pics of some two and three year old Floridas that I have raised.

Their patterns are truly remarkable. I've been having some camera techno problems. It's an old camera; but has a few war wounds.

Thanks for the kudos!

Fabulous photos!
How lucky that you were able to photograph the entire sequence of events!
Thanks so much for posting them.

Thanks...

A bit of luck, a lot of patience, and a box turtle that is not threatened due to a relationship of over 20 years helps.

Yes I can see where that would come in handy.
Shell E has surprised me after only 5 years here.
In the beginning when I fed her I had to put the food down then leave immediately. Today she couldn't care less if I'm visible or not no matter what she's doing.
Like the tortoise we have if I call Shell E's name she'll stop what she's doing and look at me. How smart can they be?
