My Gecko Eating Habit

Paradon Nov 22, 2006 09:04 PM

I have three leos and it seems there eating habit has tapered off since they are a little older. But two still eat pretty good, though, but less than they used to eat. One is still small, the one that eating a lot, and the other one is the oldest, she's got a big fat tail, and she eats the most. The one with the fat tail did fast for awhile and then started eating again...I mean started eating a lot. And the second that I got, which is a yellow patternless, is the one that's eating least. She's not fully grown yet, but when I feed her everyother day, sometimes she would just not eat until the next feeding time. I'm not sure why, though. Any thought.

Are they housed together? This can cause poor feeding and slow growth in any less dominant Leos in the enclosure. If so I would seperate them and see if that helps.

Then again some Leos are just a little less "piggy" then others.

Well, I hand feed everyone to make sure everyone gets the food so i don't think that's the problem. But sometimes I do let them chase their own food to let their predatory instinct out.
