My most yellow lavender female....... (see inside for details)

BrianSmith May 20, 2003 06:31 PM

Here is "Favia", my female lavender albino that is the most yellow of the bunch. She is the worst eater I have, not just in retics, but over all, lol. And while she has some considerable length, she is still fairly thin. She only accepts one or two rabbits per month. But it should only be one more year before she is breeding and squirting out beautiful babies. It's hard to photograph the albinos to capture the true colors so it may be hard to actually see how pretty she is. I'll post another angle of her shortly. Let me know what you think.

Brain, you have some of the best looking snakes i have ever seen. Have you got a retic from Bob that has been mean. I am a little nervous about getting the tiger retic because of their bad rep.Thank you for sharing the pics.

Thank you very much for the compliment. I'm kinda lucky that Bob allowed me to get picks or he hand picked them for me personally. Either way I ended up with some fantastic snakes and of that I'm appreciative.
I have gotten many retics from Bob and not one of them is at all mean or even defensive. I have more tigers than any other phase and they actually seem MORE kicked back than many of the others (generally speaking). The only thing that even comes close to any behavior that could be considered as less than tame would be two of the lavender phase albinos don't like to be touched and will flinch or "bump" you away from them upon being petted or rubbed. But I always ignore this and rub and pet them even more, just knowing that it is a matter of time before they become accustomed to this. I don't want them to still be this way when they hit 20 feet as they are so powerful at that size and even a flinch can cause injury. But no, in my opinion you should be able to feel confident to buy any captive produced retic phase and end up with a real laid back snake. And they actually usually get better with time. Just don't ever let them learn that they are stronger than you. They can be pretty deliberate when they get bigger.
