Crested Housing

AndrewFromSoCal Nov 23, 2006 04:22 PM

I was hoping to house 2 cresteds together. Are there any cages that anyone can recommend? I was thinking of getting the large Exo Terra cage (18x18x24) but i'm wondering now if that's too small. I would prefer something tall as opposed to long, and glass instead of screen.

Also, what plants would be useable? Is it basically the same thing as dart frogs? Any information would be very helpful!

Thanks,
Andrew

PS Happy Thanksgiving!

don't worry, I've been blind in the past too - it's up at the top of the page, or right here:

thats what i have the exo terra and i have 2 together in each one. however i am kind of new to the cresteds but it seems to work. the more stuff to hide in and climb on the better! snake plant is very good and they really seem to like it. also lots of bamboo dead or alive. serval horizontal peices is a good idea also. they also seem to like the bromiliads also. i never see them on it but there is always poop on them. haha

I hear you on feeling like the XL Exo Terra is too small, though that's what I have my male in right now (I had both my male & female in there, but they seem to hate each other, so now they live seperately). The XL is decent if you have plenty of different hiding and climbing spaces. That said, also leave plenty of room for jumping around from vine to vine, or plant... they LOVE that. Below is a pic of my current set-up. I'm using the strilite tub as my second habitat (it's too expensive to get a second exo terra).
A place called Pet Solutions has free shipping on all orders of $75 & over if you don't have yours yet. They are pretty quick with shipping also.

Right on, I guess it wouldn't be horrid for 2 females then. Thanks for the input.

And terrarium books that anyone has had experience with?
