i'v had many kinds of snakes so i have pretty good experience witht them but not enough for something like a burm or retic (nothing big and nothing venemous) but i want another, whats a pretty easy snake to care for that will get 4-8 feet and has easy care requirments and easily tamed, not agresive?

Rat snakes and bullsnakes are great candidates. I love both. Bullsnakes are very beautiful snake, come in nice color morphs, and are probably the second largest colubrid native to the US. They can occasionally hit over 8 ft. Some blood lines get larger than others. Care is similar to a rat or kingsnake. Rat snakes are great snakes. Most are fairly tame, but watch out as some are bitey. Diff. morphs are available. Andy

Taiwan beauties are nice, easy to care for, pretty and get LONG... but not fat :P. 6-8 feet easy though.

There are lots of "easy" snakes in that size range. Here are a few I can talk about from personal experience...
Carpet Pythons are a little nippy as youngsters but most settle down with regular handling and are pretty strong feeders. The Jungles and Irian stay smaller than Coastals. I've got a female Coastal that's around 6'and still growing . She was a little rough for the first few years but calmed down well with the exception of feeding time.
Brazilian and Colombian Rainbow boas stay within that size range too. Colombians are a little hardier, but Brazilians aren't that hard if you don't mind watching the humidity.
Taiwan Beauty snakes max out around 7-8'. Mine's a sweetie, gorgeous, never refused a meal in 6 years and very easy to handle.
If you like North American snakes, it's hard to beat a Black Rat snake for a great pet. I like them better than Corn snakes though they don't have all the color variations. Very hardy and mine always calmed down with age.
So Pythons, Boas or Rat Snakes- which do you like best?

You must get a Bullsnake. I have been keeping snakes for 44 years and these are my favorite. Easy to care for(the easiest I have had),grow large and heavy, most captive born are tame, they are very handsome, easy to feed, active day and night, grow very fast, and are just plain fun! If I decide to breed sankes this is the one. They are also inexpensive. I waited 6 months to locate one that I wanted. It was worth the wait and I hate waiting for anything. Just get one. Try to locate a breeder. I puchased mine at a Reptile Show.....and plan on getting another one very soon.
