Who has high contrast Argentine Boas???

minicopilot Nov 24, 2006 08:10 AM

I haven't seen dark colored Argentine Boas with bright white markings in years now. They used to be so common and now all I see are the tan/brown colored snakes with white markings.
Is anyone here breeding/selling them, OR know where to find them?

Thank you

not sure on specifics for high contrast, but i've seen some outstanding animals from Gus Rentfro of Rio Bravo Reptiles... those stick out in my mind more than any others.

I know someone was breeding for pink... forgot who.

Others working with Argentines are Mike Greathouse, and then mostly for the T related stuff, Bob Clark, John Mack, Jeremy Stone, Pete Kahl and myself, amongst some others I may have forgotten.

Best wishes!

Thanks, Joe

By high contrast I mean very dark, close to black if not black body color with either bright white or high pink accent coloration.
I never see them available the way they were a few years back. There was a time when I'd see them at shows, dealers, and even at Petcos and Pet Smarts!
I'd like to get a couple of nice ones to raise up and breed.
Thank you for the response.

Welcome.

I know exactly what you mean... they are STUNNING like that... I like those too! I just haven't been following the classifieds close enough lately to give direct breeders.

I do remember one of the two litters Gus produced this past season were quite high-contrast. I'd ask him if he has any left.

I also forgot Mark Kennedy... he usually offers them every year.

Thanks again, Joe

Eugene Bessette of www.ophiologicalservices.com had a mess of babies this year from black and white parents. This girl has yet to produce. Good luck. They are out there.
