Albino Cape Gopher

irunfast Nov 25, 2006 11:13 AM

Here is a quick pic I took of my albino cape gopher (P.c.vertebralis). He bred for me this year with my normal female and gave me 4.2 het for albino capes. I also included a pic of three of the hets. I really like the cape hatchling on the left, the high orange one. She will be staying here.

Wow! Even in their "albinism" it seems Gopher snaes prove to be a very variable snake w/ very few seemingly sharing the exact characteristics. I believe there were pics of albino capes that looked to me alot like Applegate SD's, but the snake in the top pic appears to hold more clear cleaner pattern traits of what I've seen in other normal Cape Gophers. I like it.

My albino Cape bred for me last season too. I also got a couple hatchlings showing some orange/peach colors...will do some pics when I feed on Sunday.

I washed him out a bit with the flash...the peach color shows up even better on his sides.
