now i know that i will probly get hounded for this. i work at a local pet store where i am from and yes we do sell them. wednesday we got one in. i would say it is about 11 inches or so. not 15 mins of being off of the truck....he ate 2 mice for me. now yes i know that he was and is a wild caught import....but i just couldnt resist him. he is the greatest. he isnt very ppl freindly...but yet if i was took out of my house....and put in a cage i wouldnt be either. i am going to start working with him in a week or two to start taming him if possible. he thinks that he is sooo much bigger then he is...lol. my question is....what size cage would you all put him in right now. i have him in a 40 gallon breeder.... i was just wondering what you all have had experiences with....and what seemed to work the best for you!! please dont hound me too hard those of you that dont believe in this!!

I have been thinking alot about why people get savannahs and why
they get rid of them. Maybe a good solution would to be to make
an adult enclosure now, decide just where in your house you have
room for a very large reptile. I think that if you had to make it
at the time you get the cute little one, it would help in letting
you know if you are really someone who should own a monitor.

This has nothing against you, just some ideas I was trying to think
about as a way to educate those who think they want one, but might
not really be ready.

I hope that he works out well for you, but more so that you work
out well for him cause there sure alot of them that get past the
40 gallon breeder stage that finds themselves with out a home.

Good luck!
