you certainly don't have a Caiman of any sort. I believe what you have there is a Nile Crocodile (C. niloticus). Be prepared, they get quite large and aggressive as adults and are quite unsuitable for the average keeper.

perhaps

Paleosuchus describes two species of Dwarf Caiman and "niloticus" is describing the Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus). If you are stating that it could be a cross between the two, not gonna happen. This cross would be completely against everything taught in junior high biology class.

crocodilius trigabrosus

At first I was thinking it could be Osteolaemus mississippiensis, and after that a crocodylus gangeticus....but now, I think you actually got me beat!

Chris
P.S. Judging by the skin color and it's perfect scales...I think it could also be an Alligator rhombifer.

I thought they were very unusal caimans but through much research we have prevailed.

Someone was joking and said Paleosuchus niloticus

Crocodilian Taxonomy is mind bogeling and screwed up to some extent, anyway There was some debate that the Smoothfronted caiman was actually suppost to be called Crocodylus niloticus.

i agree with carlos a caimen they are not these guys will get very very large and then eat you.

crocodile_king Nov 30, 2006 01:59 PM

Well heck did the guy pay Caiman cost or did he pay Nile cost?

Im sure if he really wanted some caiman he could find someone willing to trade on this board.

I wouldnt recumend returning the animals to this pet store, who knows who would end up with them next.

I can supply them enough place to live , I can build a pool later when they get much bigger , between they are eating very good , i tried every king of meat , like mouse , pinkies , goldfish , sheep heart , etc etc , they are eating everything
