Digging Leo

Beardiekid14 May 20, 2003 06:37 PM

My female leo has been digging in the sand both today and last night. I am housing her with a male, but she doesnt look big enough to have eggs. Also she has a lay box with moss that I keep moist. Why is she digging so much?

Thanks,
Adam Hallquist

PS
The male and her are both old enough but have not been cooled for breeding, and I have not witnessed breeding

Leopards will breed in season without being cooled, and they're in season now. Sounds like you need to set up an incubator. Some geckos "show" more than others, just like pregnant people. Sometimes with a fat gecko you won't be able to tell the difference, and with a thinner one you may just notice the abdomen is a little bigger than usual. Some geckos lay bigger eggs than others.

It sounds like she's about to lay. I have a male and a female together and i've had lots of egges from her and never seen them mate. Do you have a pic?
