mites or something else????

snakes129 Nov 26, 2006 05:47 PM

I noticed a bunch of clear (colorless)bugs on the rim of my snakes water bowl but from what I read snake mites are black. There are no black mites at all (on the snake, by it's eyes or on/in the water bowl).

Are these snake mites or can it be another type of pest from the aspen bedding????

thanks in advance for any suggestions

It sounds like another type of pest to me.. you may want to toss the rest of that aspen, unless someone has a way to deal with that..

I switched over to newspaper years ago due to i issues like this..

I use Carefresh Pet Bedding for Spot and my mice... I've had really good luck with it, and its cedar and aspen free, so I don't have to worry about their poor little sinuses... It is a little dusty, but its easy to keep clean and Spot seems to love it.
