I personally have never had a mite problem, but alot of people keep talking good about provent a mite. I would do a forum search and use your keyword as mite

I had mites for a short while. I bought some equivalent Provent-a-mite from Walmart and also some mite treatment from Petco. I cleaned the cage like normal , then sprayed the provent a mite all over everyting in the cage except the water bowl. Then i sprayed the snake with the petco mite treatment as directed. After a week I couldn't find a mite as hard as I looked. I'm not that experienced, but adding a treatment that you can spray directly on the snake may get rid of the mites more rapidly.

PS. The chemicals in provent a mite and in the stuff I bought at Walmart are the same, but the Walmart spray only costs about 5 bucks. It's in the camping section.

Hope this helps.

Hm.. I used PAM for my mite problem, and have not seen any of the little boogers back yet (it's been about a month..) Is this a tank or a tub? Only thing I can think is, maybe one or two hitchhiked on the water bowl, or from being on the snake before treating; did you soak the snake while spraying the cage?

its a rack system and i sprayed all the tubs and cleaned the water bowl of course. no i didnt soak them but they are always soaking themselves to drown the bastards. but i just spoke to provent a mite and they told me wait 36 - 48 hours i only waited less than 24 so i will see in a few days! thanks for your post.
