A larger female erebennus at the site

antelope Nov 26, 2006 11:17 PM

Here ia a 4' female getting a morning drink at 11:20 a.m. on 11-23 -06. She had a small bit of shed attached to her tail, found her shed after the photo. Temps were climbing from a nighttime cool of 56. It was around 68 degrees when she was out, and there were several leopard frogs out basking as well.

It is gratifying to see photos of the "real deal" where they belong. Are the individuals you've observed as black as this female appears to be? Thanks

Yeah, they are black and the old males tend to gray up, sort of like in perpetual shed.
