orange Trans-Pecos ratsnake...very cool

These are still very rare in collections. This is an '04 male TPRS that I'm planning on pairing with a blonde female or two in '07 to make the world's first 100% orange x blonde babies. That orange color should really be brought out more vibrantly with the blonde pattern.

These should also brighten up the albino lines considerably when outcrossed.

Dusty,

Is that a locality animal? I ask because it bears a close resemblance to a couple of subocs a friend and I collected on Boy Scout this past May. At any rate, a very nice looking Bogie!

Wow. I have heard of brown and red Bogeys from Boy Scout, but never golden-orange. That's cool.

This guy's parents are from Presidio County near Panther Canyon/Closed canyon on the River Road.

In the late 80s, I saw a stunning orange blonde bogey that was WC down on the river road. It was cornsnake orange.

I have seen a few very orange snakes from the Davis Mts and a couple of surprisingly orange snakes from the Franklins. I think orange snakes show up throughout the range.

I will be interested to see if anyone can breed this orange into an amel. A dark brown/orange snake would be screaming orange in an amel.

Cool. I would have loved to see that snake.

On top of that aforementioned '04 golden-orange, I've got another 1.2 '05 animals from orange parentage including this yearling male. I've got an '05 albino female ("betrothed" to one of these males) that I plan on using to make amel outcrossed with brilliant orange.

I know that the first CB Loma Alta albino that Tracy B. hatched was a reddish female, and I believe Tracy used some reddish stock from Boy Scout Rd. to get that color. So I agree, it will be exciting to see that pumpkin orange show up in albinos.

Nice. That is a great looking snake. Hopefully, one of my baby blondes will turn into a nice orange animal for you. They are starting to shed and I'm definitely seeing some nice color.

That's so good to hear! That snake of yours turned out to be as fertile as the Tennessee Valley. 16 babies in one clutch is incredible.

Careful DR
I'm glad to see you use the "Tennessee Valley" in only a positive tone, as well everyone should... LOL
Seriously, Thanks for posting that animal.

Unless you live in the Tennessee Valley as I do.
Then you can be as negative as you wish.....LOL
Ah, but I do love it here.
