A few years back, I got Joe. He was a WC adult geyri in crummy condition. The first thing he did upon arrival was flip out and smash into the glass of his cage several times. He ended up with two splits in his upper lip. Eventually, the flap of flesh between the splits came off. This left him with a goofy Bugs Bunny look, but the vet said it healed fine - it would just never grow back.

He's a wily one, but I pull him out of the cage periodically to clean out any gunk that gets trapped in there. I noticed that his bunny tooth look had gotten more pronounced. I took him to the vet last week to have it looked at. My vet (different from original vet) and the other exotics vet at the same clinic looked him over and decided it was probably abnormal bone growth resulting from the trauma. My vet trimmed it off, similar to how they trim rabbit teeth. Here after the trim you can see how far it had pushed downward.

He said that if it was, in fact, this type of bone growth, it would probably grow back. Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? Any suggestions?
