Imitators in a 10

geckguy Aug 07, 2003 07:37 PM

I am picking up a pair of imitators on the 17 of august and I am setting up a vertical ten for them, my question is will they be okay in the vertical ten until I get them a bigger tank at the next reptile show in november.

I would guess a 10 is fine. On its end would offer higher grounds for them.

I am currently setting up a 15gal tall for 4 imitators, but I still have some time to wait for mine.

It will be fine as a temporary housing. I think it would be fine as a permanent one as well. May not be the BEST but it will be fine. Especially considering most of us quarantine in a shoe box for about the same time.

I'm just going to keep them in a vertical ten then get them a 30 extra high which is 24"long,24" tall, and 18"deep.

Hi
I had my pair of imitators in a 10vert for quite awhile until I noticed it had a crack in the bottom so now they are in a 20h vert. They were laying eggs and were doing fine in it but I think they like more room in the 20h.I haven't asked them but they are fine,LOL.One thing I can't stress enough,if you use cork bark flats make sure there aren't any holes for them to get behind the background.Mine were laying eggs behind mine and then I would have to wait until they deposited the tads to get them out for artificial raising of them.Good luck with yours, they are some of the best frogs and if you let them raise the tads they are kinda the"poor man's pum",LOL
