Mean Mean Mean!!

nboles1215 Nov 27, 2006 09:36 PM

I picked up an 05 Male (1300g) at a show this past weekend and need some input. This guy is not your typical normal. He has a deep purple/gray color to him (Beautiful.I want to keep him around for next season to see his offspring. However, he is a Bas*ard. Any chance he gets to strike at somthing, someone, or just plain air he DOES. What opinions do you all have as far as getting him to settle down?

I will also add: I have a rack system (Jason's Jungle) that I keep him in with the temperature at 92 degrees. He is not in shed and he ate yesterday.

I had a mean Ball before what i did was bought a pair leather gardening gloves and just tryed to handle her whenever i could without handling her too much. After a while she calmed down but on occasion she will still try and grab you.

Lower cage temp to between 82 - 85 and after a few days start handling it often. Too high temps make for a cranky snake.

Use a snake hook, golf club or something other than your hand to get it out of its cage. Once out of the cage it should start to settle down a bit.

Gloves can come in handy, as already mentioned, and so can a long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt.

Hang in there & keep us posted.

It is said that 1 out of every 4 people are mentally unbalanced. Think of your 3 closest friends, if they're normal, then it's you.
