Database software for reptiles

johnmp Nov 27, 2006 10:50 PM

any reccomendations on a good database software for use with reptile record keeping? I would like a better way to log in all data from feeding to birthing records, illnesses and treatments, habitat info such as temperature during different seasons such as when we cool various animals.
I would also like to be able to query the info and look at data in different ways to copmpare what works and what doesn't.
the card system that I use now while it has the info I need doesn't make it easy to compare data in a way that would be useful unless I was willing to spend hours compiling it.
I know that there are several being marketed and I am just wanting some input from anyone who use a database.

I use freeherp software for my collection. It does well for me, but is limited. I will probably switch to metzcal sometime in the future. I don't know how in-depth you need to go, but for being free software, they're pretty good.

I have been using the Degei Husbandy database for a few years now and enjoy it. In the past, I set up my own database using Microsoft Access which worked well too...

Best regards,

Jeff
