I have an eleven inch bearded dragon named Gryphon, who is just fantastic. I have found a used homemade cage from a friend which was free but is in need of major clean up since they kept an iguana and several guinia pigs in it. The cage is made of wood and is painted bright white (not very pleasing to the eye). I was going to sand it down smooth, clean it out, and then paint it to allow for sealing and easy cleaning. What type of paint should I use? Would laytex be allright? Also, where might I find bran to use as my substrate? Gryphon is begining to burry under the paper towel, which I take as a sign that it is time for a "grown up lizard" substrate! Thanks so much and I look forward to your replies!
