A little Mussurana Update...

Doug T Nov 28, 2006 10:30 PM

For you cross-over fans.

Here’s another fun little mussurana story for you guys.

I put my adult pair together tonight for their first mating. As was the case last year, they were precision guided and very quick to get to business. Most interestingly though, this time at one point the female’s head got near the males head… and she started to open her mouth as if she intended on EATING him. I put my handy dandy long gloves on to get ready to separate the two. No big deal though… the male moved his head away to make sure he didn’t become a meal while mating.

They’re still at it as I speak, and I’m noticing frequently, the male makes sure his head stays away from the females head, tossing his body towards her head forcefully to startle her away.

Always fun and it looks like we’ll have more mega-constrictors for next year.
