So a few weeks ago, I showed one of my juvie female red milksnakes to my nephew. Afterward I just sat the lid on top of the container, hugged him goodbye, turned around......snakes gone!!!!! GRRRR

Today, went to check if my male juvie red milksnake had shed yet so I could feed him. He had so I sat the lid on top of the container.....(are ya seeing a pattern here?).....turned to get the pinky out of the warm water. When I turned back.......snakes gone!!!!! Within three weeks, TWO of my favorite snakes are loose in my house!!!! UNDER MY CARPET no doubt!!!!

Oh well.....jus tho't I'd flaunt my reptile keeping prowess!!!!

The carpet will prevent you from seeing them so if they're not already smashed you may roll up the carpet & check. Hopefully they'll turn up. Don't worry I had that happen w/ a mole king. little snakes seem to sprint out open lids.

I own 93 snakes and have never lost one that I haven't found. Just keep looking. A rubbermaid with a live food item works wonders.

You must be in the "pattern" that I am!
Last weekend I bought a pair of corns, set them up in cages and at the first feeding I'm in my snake room with the lid off the cage and the phone rings,I figure I can leave the lid off and answer it after all it's only in the next room and I will be right back. So, I get involved in a conversation with a friend of mine and totally forget that I was in the middle of feeding snakes and go on to something else after I hang up the phone.A few hours later I go into the snake room to check up on things and see the lid off! Then it hits me that I was feeding.I look in the cage and find one corn.Oh no!And I only had them 2 days!
So, I'm standing there scratcing my head and hear a slight rustle in the closet,I open the door and there is my escaped corn laying in the corner.Snake found,no problam right? Well the very next day I was filling the water bowl in my blonde trans pecos cage,I get one cage clip on and the wife yells from the bedroom "Mike come here, hurry"so I go over there and scoop up a huge hobo spider from the floor and throw it outside.A few hours later I go into the snake room to shut off the lights and step right on my blond sub-oc!Back in the cage it goes and I put the other cage clip on.I'm standing there thinking that I almost lost two great snakes in as many days!My new rule is:When in the snake room there will be NO distaractions.I don't answer the phone, the door,or any one who my be calling out for me, period!
I told the wife and kids that if anyone calls out for me while I'm in the snake room, they had better be barfing up a lung to need me that bad!
