Basically I'm planning on purchasing a green tree pyton and I'm a bit confused. There are so many different types like Jayapura, or Murauka, and etc. My question is, I'm wanting to spend to spend about 400 for one. What would be the best type, in that type of price range to purchase. I know this is kind of a personal preference call, but I would just like to get some of your personal opinions so I can get a better idea of the best snake I can get for that price range. Like I said I am very excited about finally getting one I just would like to get a better idea of what is out there. I like both the greens and yellows, and the blue and greens, so suggestions on both kinds would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Shannon

In my humble opinion you can't go wrong w/a Sorong locality. Large size, nice blues, and usually a great temperment - especially when compared to Biaks! I have Sorongs, Biaks, and Arus and the Sorongs are all puppy tame. This is a pic of my female Sorong. She's been bred 4 times this season and is now hopefully cruisin' along towards ovulation!

thankyou, I appreciate the post, like I said I'm just trying to get other people's opinion to see what would probably be the best option for the money, thanks, also if you have time do you know why it seems that the red colored babies tend to be more expensive than the yellows ones? Is there any reason for this, do they develop into better colored adults, or are they pretty much the same as yellow babies?

...you do know you are asking this in the tree boa forum, not the tree python forum, right? Emerald's are tree boas but I am sure some people here could give you suggestions, just probably not as much as the tree python forum would.

You do realize you are asking about green tree pythons, not Emerald Tree Boas? There are several people here that keep both, but you would get more answers in the appropriate forum. You might want to do a little more research before purchasing either of these animals.
