Not a bad idea!
I grew up with a redfoot and in the summer he had the run of about a 1/4 acre yard. I used a much lower tech locating device. I fastened a 5 foot yellow ribbon to his shell with a piece of duct tape and off he wandered. Where ever he chose to settle in for the evening was easy to find by the long yellow tail. Have to admit there were ocassional evenings where the "tail" became dislodged and I was on a wild goose chase but most often he was in that immediate area.
I use to fasten a red flag atop TenderLeigh. But that would often times become disladged also! Lol
