Any 100K Morphs left?

Finnigan Nov 30, 2006 01:19 PM

I used to like going through the classifieds and finding all the ads for snakes that cost as much as homes. Recently, I see nothing over $25000, and that's often for pairs or projects.

Are the days of 50-100K BP's over?

The Puma/Champaigne is up there in price, as well as the Banana/Coral Glow. Especially with Pastel, Spider, and Clown Bananas and Coral Glows. (depending on the bloodline)

The morphs that used to be $20k and up, are now much cheaper, but new stuff does come along and fill that higher void. A continuous cycle as long as there are new morphs.

I doubt things will get to the record prices seen before though ever again. It seems that morph boids when they FIRST hit the market can fetch up around $30K now, but those are for the first initial offerings after it is proven genetic. And for the EXTREME stand out morphs.

100k morphs are probably gone unless something crazy different comes out of africa. There are several snakes that I think would sell for around 50k in todays market but they wouldn't be put up for sell. examples... original platty daddy, large 05 lav albino pied female if she's over 1200g, powerball, yb super phantom, male axanthic killer bee would be close along with some of the other secret combo's of NERDS that Kev won't sell, lol and a few more could easily sell for 50k if they were put on the market. This would be first time offerings and the price would drop each year from there but it's the nature of the beast for that to happen. What does it matter though, I'd take selling a pair of snakes for 25k, that's killer money. Heck selling them for 1k a pair is d@mn good money.

I think a better question would be, any $50K morphs left, or any $25K morphs left, or, what is the highest priced morph that sold for cash money this year....

There are millions of dollars a year in Ball Python trades, I did well over 40K worth of trades this year, which is small time to what most do. The question is what is selling for cash, and for how much. The advertised prices are usually much higher than the acutal sales price.
