After shed?

stygiansguitars Nov 30, 2006 04:24 PM

My cal king, who I've only had for a month (and I have never had a snake before) shed about a week ago. He ate the Saturday before and I've been trying to feed him since last Saturday, but he hasn't eaten. When I put a f/t mouse in there he goes and curls up in his water bowl and on Monday he actually fell asleep in there and spent the whole night in it.

So, I was wondering if there's a period of time where he won't eat after he sheds because he has to stretch his new skin or something?? I have no idea. thanks for any answers

he shed his skin in one piece. he's like 9 months old and he's SUPER skinny.

and this picture (from before he shed) is blurry cause he was trying to bite the camera so I turned the flash off but I guess that's not why he was snapping at it
