Randy, I assume you mean the anery form, as opposed to other flavirufas. I think it's an interesting form also, but the species, in general, is very interesting. I think there are some neat comparisons to the scrub rats/corns. Someday I'm going to try the night snakes again.

Hey Terry. I meant all of them and not just the anery's. You should know me better than that. C'mon man. Randy

Ok, I'm on board now. A moment of "braindeadedness". Those are both beauties. This last girl has some nice color, especially compared to my "plain jane" scrub rat from Duval Co, TX...

I like the natural history and hardiness of the flavi's. Are there any other morphs besides the anery? Thanks..

Thanks, Todd! Yep, it's a thornscrub rat, Pantherophis guttatus meahllmorum. I really love these guys and am centered on them right now. You and Toby are in a great location and I'm hoping might scare up some specimens from near the slowinskii range near Port Lavaca next year. I also love seeing snakes from the coast of South TX and would like to research the scrub rats from the Mexico side...

I picked up a new pair of babies from La Salle County this fall. I'll be looking to get some pix of them this winter sometime. They don't have the striping though. The more westerly thornscrubs are a little different from the coastals. Still looking into that. Awesome animals, just the same. I can see why folks want the thornscrub rats to be a separate subspecies, at least. A lot more than just an emoryi..haha!

Have a good 'un....TC
