Wow! Yeah, you're right. Those're sweet! I'm lookin' to hunt up some desert Cals this coming spring.

SWEET!
that top one especially, has a really high band count.
Now you're talking! Here's one I caught in Santa Cruz in 2005. I caught one road hunting this Summer, but it wasn't quite as nice. As an Ohioan, it's always nice to find a Cal King in the field.
Shannon,
Last I recall you were living in an area were some of the best wildcaught B&W cal kings have been found. Are you still in the same area or did you move?
Tell us the locale?
Have you ever found the high band count cal kings in California city or the high desert? They run between 72-85 bands. I really want a pair of those should you run across them.
bluerosy,
Yes,I still live in Bishop,Ca.
I have never seen one with 70 some odd bands but I would guess they are out there.Highest band count I ever saw was about two hours from here and had 58 to the vent.It was a road kill.

Man I have a weakness for the classics! Those snakes rock! IMHO the line bred 50/50 types generally lack the high contrast of the realy clean white banding like the originals.
very nice shannon, super clean!!
Thanks Jon.Hope to see you this spring man.
