That Daddy Platty was recessive as well. Lesser X Normal Sibling. Go figure!

Absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!!!!

Is there a "3 mile island" in Africa?

Markus Jayne Aug 08, 2003 09:18 AM

...without any pastels yet being discovered. It's amazing!

Are there other lesser platty's out there that are being captured in the wild? Does anyone else have them? It would make sense that they would of been the first to show up.

I think it is astounding and I could hear Ralphs brain working as he tried to figure this one out. No more smoke coming out of his ears. Good for him!

Could the Mojave and Phantom be Lesser Platties without the recessive (or maybe incompletely dominant) Hypomelanistic gene? I'm not saying they look exactly the same but they might all be related some how (maybe different mutant alleles of the same gene). They all seem to have the wide pattern elements, all seem to be "some kind of dominant" and it may well turn out that a leucistic is the super for all of them.

Then there is Butter. Could it be another gene similar to phantom/ platy /mojave, perhaps also with a 2nd hypomelanistic gene to make them yellow? Fun times!

They should all be part of my collection! Working on it!
