new w/c scarlet king

ssshane Dec 01, 2006 07:37 PM

I just acquired this new baby scarlet kingsnake. Anyone have much experience with these? I really like this snake. I am gonna look extemely hard for a male in the spring. Anyone know someone that regularly breeds them? Thanks for the help.
She has eaten pinky tails twice for me. She is very curious. Doesn't care much for being held, but she will almost take food from your hand.

That's a whopper!
Seriously, that's a nice healthy looking Elapsoides and yes, I've had a few hatchlings that worked their way UP to tiny newborn pink heads. Feed them frequently, every 2-4 days and they'll grow reasonably fast. Nice that he's feeding for you.
Post a wanted ad in the classified section and you should get a response-plenty of enthusiasts hatch these every year.
Good luck! Jeff

After starting out eating 2 meals within the first 4 days of captivity, she had quit eating. I finally got her to eat again. She ate a nice size piece of mouse tail scented with anole.

I bred these little guys years ago, but have since sold my adult breeders. Your lucky yours is such a willing eater, as these can sometimes be very fussy eaters..............Doug
