...THAT snake looks really familiar. It look like one I have seen recently on this forum.

Cool find. It looks like it is in pretty bad shape (thin). I hope it makes it for you.
You should get in contact with the people who have the other baby. In a few years you could swap out some hets to outcross the line (assuming they are compatible). That would certainly be beneficial for both of you.

That's awesome man. Where in Louisiana are you? A freind of mine found a leucistic being eaten by a kingsnake in Slidell a few years ago, so I've been waiting for another to turn up.
It was found in the Metairie/Kenner area. I also found a leucistic narrow-mouth frog not far from there that lived for about 2 and a half years.
You have some pretty good luck. Did the leucistic frog ever breed for you?
Is the hognose a male or female? You can definately put me down for a pair of hets if/when they become available.
I never did try to breed the frog. Well, I did put some normal colored frogs from the same area with it in a nice terrarium. Nothing ever happened. I can't post any pics because the ones I took weren't with a digital camera. Maybe I could scan the 35mm pics I have. Paul Freed took some pics of it a few years ago at the Houston expo. I don't know if they were ever published in anything.
Congrats on the find!! I've got the other one found here in FL a few months ago. I haven't sexed it, but it seems to pop female. They look like they could almost be twins!! Wierd how two were found in one year! Hope it eats for you, and congrat again.

I tried feeding it a frog but it didn't take it. Then against my own advice (to avoid too much stress, it's real small) I "tease fed" it a newborn pinkie. First it bit it then spit it out. Then it bit it and swallowed it. Now I'll just have to see if he keeps it down. I tried popping it but didn't want to push too hard. Nothing came out so maybe it's a female. It will have to be probed to see for sure.
You are so lucky you got it to eat on your first try...I can't wait to see pics of it as it matures.
