New owner of a Ball python

DigitalBliss Dec 01, 2006 09:16 PM

My girlfriend and I just bought our first snake which is a Ball Python and we had a few questions. Our python seems to be shedding we assume this because it has some lite colored scales and they seem to be slightly flaky and when shedding do eat? We also read at night it should be cooler, we have one lamp and a heat pad and wanted to know if it will be too cold with just the pad on.If anyone could explain these things to us it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link for you to read about the care of your animal
Caresheet

Cooler temps in the evening is usually only for breeding animals

Good Luck

Sounds like a good care sheet is the first thing. Basically you want the python to be able to self regulate. Colder night temps are for breeding purposes.
