regulating body heat

Hello,
I was told chams will open their mouths to help regulate their
body temperature.I have not yet found anything in my research about this.Is this a true fact?any info would greatly be appreciated.

Chameleons that are too hot will make their colors lighter and sit with their mouths open sometimes. If a chameleon is not too hot and is sitting with its mouth open there is likely another reason.
