DeWorming a Turtle

vanstorm Dec 02, 2006 10:40 AM

I found a long white ribbon like string or worm coming out of one of my turtles rear end yesterday. Is there anywhere I can get Panacur and Flagyl for cheap and does anyone know how to treat a turtle. I live in Illinois near Chicago. Amount of med, frequency and length of treatment. I am not 100% sure if it was a worm but a treatment couldn't hurt.

Thanks,

VS

i used a little dosage of safeguard wormer you can get at the feed store on my 100lber, but i'd be carefull on the dosage if its a small turtle. also check out austinsturtlepage.com under medical information for more on medications. some wormers will kill turtles. be carefull VS.

I think I am going to take it to a vet. This way I can get the right meds and learn how they deworm the turtles. I am also going to try and get extra meds so I can do preventative mant
twice a year on my turts.
