niek_hofman Dec 02, 2006 12:03 PM

HI guys,

as I am getting a 1.1 D.viridis in about 2 weeks I started to build an large cage for them. here some pics. the board that is seperating the big cage is not done yet. In this one there will come an hole so they can choose a cage and I can manipulate them in another one so when the hole is shut I can work save.. also light etc is not in there yet.. just did this bit of work in 3 hours time..

hope you like it.

this box is for transportation. there is anseperation inside the box. only a lid for the holes to shut them and I am ready to go.

and just for fun the picture on the door to one of my snake rooms :D

looks great. one thing i noticed was the type of wood used for the transfer box. is it treated lumber? it looks kinda green to me in the pix. myself, i wouldnt use treated wood, as there is some NASTY stuff impregnated in it. including cyanide.
nice cage.
good luck.

Hi,
well the cage is 8ft long , 3ft deep and 3ft high.

The wood that I used for the transportbox isn´t the kind of wood that you think . there are no chemicals on that woods. the collour is from the light in that room.

cheers niek

Looks good. One minor suggestion: There is an attachment for a drill designed to cut holes for doorknobs. That device would be just what you need for that hole.
